Animal Services officers seize four pit bulls

By Amber Downing, KFDM

Four pit bulls are in the custody of Beaumont Animal Services.  Officer Stoney Brooks was in charge of the investigation.  Brooks had warned the man living in the 3000 block of Roland Road in north Beaumont to make changes to his dogs' living condition on Monday.
The man did not comply, so a warrant to seize the dogs was issued.
The dogs had no food or water and lived outside day and night.  The chains used to keep them in the yard were too short according to city rules.
The pit bulls will stay in the kennel at Beaumont Animal Services until a judge holds a hearing next Wednesday.  The owner of the dogs will have the opportunity to explain why he wasn't following city and state ordinances.
