Burglars become puppynappers, too

From Athens Banner-Herald

Thieves stole computers, video games and a puppy from two Old Winterville Road roommates between 1 and 5 p.m. Thursday, according to an Athens-Clarke police report.
There were no signs of a forced entry at their home, but the thieves kicked open a bedroom door and stole two laptops, a desktop computer, a high-definition computer monitor, a jar of coins, an iPod, two video game systems and 30 video games, valued at more than $5,450, police said.
The stolen puppy, valued at $1,000, is a 13-week-old blue pit bull with faint brindle stripes that weighs 21 pounds and responds to the name Juno. The thieves also took the dog's food and crate, police said.
