Pit bull owner gets Somerville Police summons for unlicensed dog

Unlicensed pit bull
Johanna Proctor of Mechanic Street was issued summonses in connection with having no license for her white pit bull. The dog was off leash running in the area of 28 Mechanic St. on June 3 at 7:55 a.m., police said, adding that the dog did not have a collar and was determined to be unlicensed.
Woman bitten by boxer
Elena Goode of William Street in Somerville was issued summonses in connection with having no license for her dog — a white and brown boxer — that reportedly bit a woman on June 9 at 5:51 a.m. on William Street.
The woman who was bitten called police saying she was concerned whether the dog had all the required vaccinations. Investigators said that woman had a tear in one pant leg and a small scratch and bruise on her leg allegedly caused by a dog bite.
Goode met with an officer at William Street shortly afterward saying she could not confirm the dog’s vaccination status, according to police. The dog was not licensed in Somerville and Goode was unable to confirm whether it was licensed in another city.
Jack Russell terrier off lease
Andres A. Schupansky of Fairview Avenue was issued summonses in connection with having no license for his dog, a Jack Russell terrier. The dog was caught by Somerset County Animal Control while wandering in the area of Fairview and South Gaston avenues on June 12 at 7:30 a.m.
