Debate raged Tuesday night in Colerain Township as trustees heard arguments for and against banning pit bulls in the township. About a hundred people packed the city administration building to share their thoughts on the issue. "Pit bulls keep on hurting people, they keep on hurting children," said Ron Mason. Mason is one of those who attended the meeting in favor of the ban.
About two hours before the meeting, thirty people or so showed up to protest the idea of a pit bull ban. They marked at the corner of Springdale Ave. with signs and megaphones.
"A good pit bull terrier has absolutely no aggression toward a human being," said Emily Gear, one of the people at the protest.
The trustee meeting lasted about three hours. Trustees took no action on the issue, but plan to hear more about it at their next meeting.
