Lorain man says pack of nine dogs attacked him

By Rona Proudfoot, The Chronicle-Telegram

A Lorain man reported to police last night that he had been attacked by a pack of nine dogs as he walked in the area of West 22nd Street two nights earlier. According to a report, Mark Payne, 46, was walking a few blocks from his West 28th Street home about 8 p.m. Sunday when he was attacked by the dogs, which he described as being “all pitbulls.” He said they bit him on his arms, hands, legs and thighs before he was able to run away and call for a ride to the hospital.
He told officers he was treated for the bites and that he believes the dogs reside at 903 or 907 W. 21st St.
And officer observed scabbed-over bite marks on Payne that appeared a few days old.
According to the report, the Health Department and dog warden were notified.
