Suffolk man accused of setting dog on fire

A Virginia man is on the run, accused of setting a dog on fire! 
Police in Suffolk are looking for Lashawn Harper. He allegedly poured gasoline on his brother's one-year-old pit bull and set it on fire - all of this because the two fought over a pair of sneakers.
The dog was able to roll itself in the grass to extinguish the has burns on its face, neck and chest but is expected to be okay.
Harper hasn't been seen since.

Man accused of setting fire to Suffolk dog arrested

Lashawn Harper, a man accused of setting his brother's year-old pitbull on fire more than two weeks ago and ran is in jail, said city spokeswoman Debbie George.
Harper was arrested on Saturday for animal cruelty, malicious wounding of an animal and arson, George said. The incident occurred on the morning of Oct. 6, when Harper and his brother got into an argument in the 400 block of Webb Street. Harper, 28, fled after the incident.
The dog was able to roll inself on the grass and extinguish the fire. It sustained only minor burns to its face, neck and chest.
Harper is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond, according to a jail spokeswoman.
