Alleged dognapper booked

By Braden Willis, Carmi Times

Carmi police jailed an alleged dognapper following an incident in the 700 block of Sycamore Street late Friday afternoon.
A Carmi Police Department incident report said Nancy Jane Harvey, 52, 710 Sycamore St., Carmi, was booked at the City-County Jail in Carmi around 4:21 p.m. Friday on preliminary misdemeanor charges of theft, possession of stolen property and criminal trespass to real property. She later posted $150 cash bail.
The report said Jody Lee Page, 28, 712 Sycamore St., Carmi, had contacted the local animal control officer in late December and complained that her neighbor, Harvey, had taken her dog. The dog was described as a pit bull/boxer mix.
