Two Pitbull Attacks in the City

Two separate pitbull attacks in the city left two people injured.

Around 1 p.m. on Lamont Place, two pitbulls attacked two people, causing minor injuries. Both people were taken to Rochester General Hospital and are expected to be okay. Rochester investigators have not located the dogs from that attack.

In a separate incident on Lux Street, an elderly man was threatened by a pitbull. When police arrived around 3 p.m., the pitbull charged the officer, who fired his gun.

The dog was not killed, and was returned to its owner. The owner was cited for having an unleashed and dangerous dog. Police say the dog did not bite anyone.
