A Fairdale, Ky. man was arrested Friday afternoon after Metro Animal Services says he beat and killed his dog, then buried it in his backyard.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by Fox 41 News, 20-year-old Justin Renfro was the owner of a boxer/pit bull mixed-breed dog named Neil. On Jan. 12, he allegedly beat the dog with the butt of his shotgun and his fists.
Authorities say the dog sustained multiple injuries from this beating including, "a deep muzzle tear that caused severe bleeding pain."
Several hours went by before Renfro allegedly drove the dog to his parents' house and shot the dog in the head with a handgun.
