Man Charged After Police Chase in Boone County; Pit Bull Shot by State Trooper

A man is facing charges after allegedly running from police in Boone County.
West Virginia State Police tell WSAZ.com they were responding to a call in Bloomingrose.

On the way troopers say Christopher Thuener from Ashford almost ran them off the road.
Troopers say as they tried to pull him over, Thuener wrecked his car and ran into a nearby house. Thuener knew the people inside the house.
A trooper and a K9 went into the house and was confronted by a pit bull. The dog was shot by the trooper. It is expected to survive.
Troopers say they found Thuener in a bedroom with a shotgun. The K9 bit him and the trooper was able to get the gun away from Thuener.
He was taken to the hospital to get treatment for the dog bite.
Charges are pending against Thuener.
