New spay/neuter assistance program inn Bethel offered for pit bulls

From News Times

Danbury Animal Welfare Society has created a new program titled "Assistance and Support to Alter Pits" (ASAP) to provide low-cost spay and neuter surgery for pit bulls. The goal is to reduce the number of homeless and unwanted pit bulls that will be euthanized each year.
ASAP will provide spay or neuter at $50 for pit bulls up to 49 pounds and $75 for pits bulls over 50 pounds. These prices include the surgical exam, spay/neuter, post-operative pain medication and anti-inflammatory medication to take home. The program also provides low cost vaccinations including distemper and rabies vaccines for $15 dollars.
To find out more about ASAP and how to utilize the program, visit and scroll over to the "About Us" tab or email the ASAP program director at
Danbury Animal Welfare Society, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) and donations are fully tax-deductible to the amount allowed by law.
