Service dog attacked by Humane Society pit bull

From Marshall Independent

The owner of a service dog wants Wadena County to help her with medical bills she incurred after her dog was attacked by a pit bull from the Humane Society.
Patti Jones says her dog, Cheyanne, was sitting calmly at the Pet Expo Saturday at the Wadena County Fairgrounds when the pit bull attacked and left her dog with puncture wounds and possible nerve damage. The pit bill was up for adoption from the Wadena County Humane Society.
Humane Society staff tell KSAX-TV that Cheyanne was harassing the pit bull, but a witness says that wasn't the case. The Humane Society did not immediately return a call Wednesday for comment.
Jones says Cheyanne is trained to wake her if she has a seizure while sleeping. She says she will have to find another service dog if Cheyanne doesn't recover from the injuries. A county board meeting Wednesday could determine who will pay for the dog's medical bills.
