Stolen Humane Society Dog Found in Benton County

By Jennie Olson, KSTP

A 6-month-old male pit bull has been recovered after it was stolen from the Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud over the weekend.

The puppy, named Benton, was recovered in rural Benton County Wednesday afternoon thanks to numerous tips to the police from the public.

According to the police report, the family was given the dog by another person and was not aware it had been stolen. The identity of the dog was confirmed by the microchip that had been placed on Benton by the humane society.

Police are still investigating the situation.
