17 pit bulls taken from Arizona City home

From KVOA

Pinal County Animal Care and Control officers seized 17 pit bulls from an Arizona City home last night after finding some of the dogs in poor health.
Pinal County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of neglected and abandoned animals in a home on South Laredo Road and found two put pulls tangled together on very short chains in the front yard of the house. There was no water left out for the dogs, sheriff's officials say.
Animal Control officers were called to the scene, and the owner of the dogs arrived and gave consent for officers to search the home. Officers found 15 more pit bulls inside, some appeared to be in poor health, officials say.
The dogs were removed and taken to the Pinal County Animal Care and Control Kennel, where they are presently being held as evidence, since the owner has refused to surrender the dogs to Animal Care staff.
In the past two weeks, Animal Care and Control officers have confiscated nearly 90 animals due to hoarding or poor living conditions, officials say.
Animal Care & Control Director Kaye Dickson said her department will welcome all monetary
donations to help offset the costs of caring for the animals from the recent hoarding cases.
Donations can be mailed to:
