York County Woman Helps Emaciated Dog

By Ashley Singh, WPMT

A York County woman is nursing a dog, who nearly died, back to health. Christine Porter says a pitbull, who she has named Bowser, walked up to her home in Fairview Township on Monday night.
Porter says Bowser was emaciated when she took him into her home. She didn't think he would make it through the night, but when she woke up the next morning, he was full of energy.
She doesn't know if this pitbull was lost or if he was left to die, but she worries he was abandoned.

"Why would you do that to a dog? Why wouldnt you just take him somewhere? If you can't take care of him anymore or don't want to take care of him anymore, there are plenty of places that will help you, so why go to that measure? I don't understand it," she said.
Porter says many people are coming together to help Bowser through facebook. So far, they've raised more than 700 dollars. She says he will be going to a good foster home in Carlisle on Sunday.
